Rome, September 2005 In response to the dissatisfactions expressed at the end of the Vienna meeting, the instigator of the project, Eric Ponthieu, was invited to the second meeting in Rome, to speak to us and answer questions about the intentions for the project and what was going to happen. We met policy makers and politicians from the city of Rome, who spoke to us about issues relating to transport, built environment and cultural heritage. After another mammoth city walk, an encounter with the delights of the Rome metro, lots of wonderful Italian food and wine, and a midnight stroll around the Colosseum, we began to think about the form we wanted our Citizens’ Declaration to take, and the sort of issues we wanted to raise. |
