The final conference has been organised in Brussels on the 5th December 2005, with two sessions – the morning session at the European Commission (Charlemagne Building) and the afternoon session at the European Parliament. A Press Conference has been organised between the two sessions, at the European Parliament.

The organisation of the final conference was supported by:

  1. the EC DG Research, that supplied the venue for the morning session, and a printing service producing about 150 copies of the conference package.
  2. The EC press service, that organised the press conference inviting several journalist and media.
  3. The MEP Jean Marie Beaupuy and the Secretariat of the “urban logement intergroup” of the European Parliament, that sent the invitations to the MEPs, supplied the venue, equipment and translation services for the afternoon session, and organised the access and reception of the citizens at the European Parliament. Jean Marie Beaupuy welcomed personally the citizens and was the Chairman of the Final Conference. 

In the morning session the citizens have presented and discussed the Declaration on the City of Tomorrow with invited representatives of city networks, stakeholders related to urban issues, national ministries or agencies concerned with urban environment issues. In the afternoon session the citizens have discussed the Declaration on the City of Tomorrow with invited Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), EC representatives and other stakeholders.
